Font and Color in Technical Documents

I decided to analyze an article from the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy. In this document there is a serif style font all black on a white background. Serif fonts are good for this type of document because it makes it easier for the audience to read. The use of black and white is a good color contrast because the black stands out really well against the white background. This gives the document a professional appearance, which makes sense considering this report is to inform all of those who inhabit the Commonwealth of the decrease in teen pregnancy rates. To make certain portions of the document to appear more "important" without actually having to sit down and read the entire article, the creator of this work bolded such material in order for the reader to get the main point as well as captivate the reader to continue reading.
